Codger in Oz For Christmas Hols
In Oz for Christmas for the first time this Century What will we do?
| Arrived
home from Philippines on Thursday December 17 just in time for a rather
wet December Codgering at Northbridge the next day.
| Sunday the 20th it was off to the Long Reef Golf Club for the traditional Codgers and Codgerettes Christmas lunch. | |
| Then off to Tamworth for Christmas with my Mum and my sister's family and back via Mudgee to visit my uncle. | |
| Back in Sydney for New Years Eve at the Bankstown Sports Club (the heart of true believers territory). | |
| On
January 5 it was off for a walk through the Bardwell Valley before
meeting up with my old Bank Johnny mate David for a few beers at
(appropriately) the Bank Hotel in Newtown.
| On January 6 we took off for a few days in Toukley, on the first day going for a walk in the Wyrrabalong National Park | |
| Next Day I went for an early morning walk south around Norah Head to Soldiers Beach. | |
| Later we went down to The Entrance for a short walk and then lunch at the pub. | |
| After lunch it was back to Norah Head for the Headland Nature Trail and Lighthouse Loop. | |
| On January 8 I went for an early morning walk along Hargraves and Lakes Beaches. | |
| After checking out of the hotel we headed back to Sydney via the western side of Tuggerah Lake. | |
| On
January 19 it was Codgering time again walking Berry
Island, Balls Point and Blues Point ending up at the Kirribilli
Club for Codgers lunch number 44.
| On
January 24 we headed south for a few days at Shellharbour. On the way
we visited the Illawarra Fly, the Kiama Blowhole, went for a short walk
in Shellharbour and a walk through Blackbutt Forest. In short: the fly, the blowhole and the blackbutt!
| Next morning I walked south down the coast to South Beach and back via the shellharbour wetlands. | |
| In the afternoon we did the Bass Point Coastal Walk. | |
| January 26 a morning walk along North Shellharbour Beach to Barrack Point and Warilla. | |
| Australia
Day we found a quiet place on the shores of Lake Illawarra, away from
the maddening crowd, for a lunch of fish and chips with Cleofe's sister
Hazel's family before heading back to Sydney. |
